Traditional Burgundy Village House furnished with charm and character to provide spacious and very comfortable accommodation for 8 adults plus 2 children. Cot & high chair available on request.
The property is entered through a private and gated courtyard garden to the house entrance which is accessed up a stone staircase to the house which is elevated above a cellar. The entrance leads directly to a charming and spacious living and sitting room with a Burgundy stone fireplace and wood burning stove, stone floor and an oak beamed ceiling. The dining kitchen is fitted with floor units and worktops, free standing units and standard white goods including a coffee maker. Also on this level there is a bedroom, shower room, toilet and access to a large leisure/play room with table tennis. In the second wing of the house are three double bedrooms, one with an additional single bed, bathroom, shower room and toilet.
The swimming pool is exclusively yours and is located in an enclosed private garden which is opposite the courtyard. The pool is 8m x 4m and goes from 1m to 1.5m deep.
Swimming Pool: The swimming pool is available from May to September and has an excellent new air source heating system designed to keep the pool at a lovely temperature for swimming. The pool is situated in a detached garden opposite the main house and it is necessary to cross a small road with very little passing traffic. Around the pool there are chairs, a table and loungers for relaxing. In addition there is a pool house with a summer kitchen with a fridge, kettle, toaster, hot & cold water, toilet, microwave and a gas BBQ. The pool depth is 1 metre to 1.5 metres and the garden and pool area is private for the use of rental guest.

Summary: Enormous and with a heated pool! Peacefull, full of nature, loads of restaurants with a full range of costs, a lovely chateau on the hill above and vineyards everywhere!

Summary: We had a lovely stay at Couches. Very homely and plenty of living space, which was useful as the weather was rather chilly. The pool are works really well too. We stayed with my young family and my mother. The bedrooms were perfect for us as they were separated by the living area, with me and the family in one section and my mother in peace in the other!

Summary: We had a really lovely time here in this cozy and attractive house. We loved the atmosphere, the ample space in all the rooms and the large windows with views out over the lawn (owned by the meticulous neighbor). The pool was fine, and Louis looked after it very well. All in all a really good stay, thank you!

Summary: Had a wonderful week at La Creuse. It is a lovely property in a beautiful setting and very close to all the local amenities in Couches. It is a nice walk up through the woods, or for those wanting a more direct path, straight up the hill! We were blessed with hot weather and the old house stayed lovely and cool inside, whilst the pool over the road was a welcome refreshing dip. The house was very clean (especially important in these Covid-19 times) and the meet on arrival was a lovely touch. The house matched the description perfectly, with the rooms all large and furniture very inkeeping with the style and age of the property. We spent time exploring the vineyards and canal by bike, as well as lounging around the pool. Poolside BBQ and kitchen was a definite bonus. Would definitely visit again.

Summary: We loved the house and the village. It was a perfect antidote to the pandemic. The pool was beautifully clean and well cared for, with a well equipped summer kitchen. The local manager, Louis, was very helpful. We will return!

Summary: The gite is very old but very well equipped. No good for disabled, lots of steps. The pool area is 2nd to none, we spent all day and evening there. Easy walk into town though not a lot there. Convenient for supermarkets. Overall superb.
