Positive: This place is truly exceptional: Combines a beautiful view over the mountains, lake and distant ocean with a distinct NZ or UK-feeling of design, a nice romantic Hobbit-garden - and sounds of Nature all around. Good location for relax from city-life, with friends or as single-traveler. The owners were friendly and very helpful, provided a very good veggie dinner and breakfast on request. Located closely to the hiking-areas of XiaoWuLai (Ancient Trees) and other scenic spots.

Negative: it is actually BETTER to pay cash - for the owner (no percentage for the credit-card Companies....), and everyone who does not support the banksters. So, be prepared and carry always enough cash!

Positive: The view from our room was lovely, the grounds are beautiful, the optional dinner (extra charge like a restaurant) was great, the room was very clean, and the staff was friendly and helpful. Very nice place. We loved listening to the sound of frogs at night.

Negative: The directions provided by Booking DID NOT work. We had to stop and ask for directions. It's odd that the rooms do not have wifi, though restaurant did, (seems like that should be standard by now). Booking also said they take credit card, BUT THEY ONLY WANT CASH, so we had to leave, find an atm and come back, which was a bit annoying.

Positive: Fantastic views over the neighbouring hills. the room was spacious, bed was confortable, the house dinner pleasant and the staff very friendly. The reversible AC/heating machine worked very well…

Negative: …though quite noisy. The breakfast buffet could also have more Western choice.
